One of Utah’s Most Scenic Full and Half Marathons Will Come To Life Saturday in Hurricane Utah

Hurricane, Utah (March 7, 2019) – 26.2 and 13.1 miles of jaw-dropping scenery comes to mind when thinking of the Sand Hollow Area in Hurricane Utah. Runners from around the region will get to experience all of it this Saturday as they set to accomplish their goals this Saturday at the Sand Hollow Marathon.

“The Sand Hollow Marathon is loved by our runners because we do everything we can to make the experience extraordinary,” said Race Director Chris Mathisen. And extrodinary it is with a newly developed course starting and finishing in Hurricane Utah paving a path through and around the beautiful Sand Hollow Reservoir area.

And if it wasn’t unique enough, the race now includes two versions of the half marathon. A Fast half and an epic hill challenge half that includes challenging hills to test the very best of what each runner can give. This is the second year that a half marathon has been added to the event.

70% of participants come from outside the area and this year runners from the region as well as runners from other countries will be participating. Marathon organizers stated that their goal this year is to provide the perfect venue for a race. They believe to have the most scenic course of all; making this is a great race with a small town atmosphere. “The scenery is fantastic, the volunteers are great, and our sponsors make it happen. We have listened to the advice of our runners and continue to improve and grow this popular event.”

Volunteers from around the area will also be supporting the event with direction, nutrition and many words of encouragement to help motivate runners to accomplish their goals. The title sponsor this year is Jones Paint and Glass.
